Preparation
Organising a horse riding tour requires very specific knowledge, including excellent organisational skills and an in-depth knowledge of horses and equestrian activities. Whether in France or abroad, we need to be able match the right person to the right trip.

We maximise our abilities and knowledge for your needs and offer you the trip that will best meet your expectations.

Because we have in-depth knowledge of the countries we go to and a wide network of direct and close partners, we can also design a travel experience tailored to your requirements and physical abilities. If there are enough participants, dates of departures and arrivals can be flexible, and we also offer the possibility to personalising your trip by adding extra activities or visits.

Tour Prices
Prices indicated on our website are regularly updated according to any changes to the itineraries, exchange rates or flight prices. The final price of the tour will be confirmed during booking.

All prices are per person, based on double occupancy.
What does the price include?
Unless specified otherwise, all prices include accommodation, meals, your horse and their saddle and equipment (for equestrian tours), a guide, transfers and transportation of luggage. For each tour, you will see the list of services included in the price.

Accomodation
To avoid any confusion, we would like to clarify the terms used during booking of accommodation: A “double room” is a room with a double bed for 2 people, or 2 single beds put side by side; a “twin bedroom” is a room with 2 separate single beds. For people travelling alone, we will try to book bedrooms with separate beds whenever possible, although room type is not guaranteed and depends on the hotel's availability at check-in.

Single Rooms
Whenever possible, you can choose to stay in a single room, for which a supplement applies. The supplement charge will be indicated on each tour description. Single rooms might not be available every night. People travelling alone, who agree to share a twin room, will not be charged a supplement.

Transfers

Most transfers from the airports are included in the price unless otherwise mentioned in the tour description and in the price details. Some transfer prices are subject to change according to the cost of fuel. This will always be mentioned during booking.

In order to facilitate organisation and reduce costs, these transfers are planned for the entire group and scheduled at a precise time. If you prefer to book your own flight, please make sure that you arrive in time for the transfer.

Flights

For all tours and activities, you can choose between two kinds of prices:

-    “All-inclusive”, upon request, including all services on site and the flight from Paris
-    Or the price for services on site only, if you prefer to book your own flight.

We can also book first and business class flight tickets, according to availability.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us regarding any other specific requests or any further information.

If you prefer to reserve your own flights, please do not confirm your flight before we confirm the booking of your tour. You will also need to ensure that you arrive in time for transfers, trekking departure or the start of other activities.

If you would like us to book your flight, please note that we might not always be able to provide you with the name of the company, the destination airport or the type of plane straight away. Sometimes information given at the time of booking might be subject change. In case of modification of the details mentioned above, we will do our best to inform you as soon as possible before departure. You will also need to follow the instructions to confirm your return ticket.

Insurance & security

For all tours and activities, we require that you arrange your own personal insurance. At the time of booking, you will need to confirm in writing that you have your own insurance policy. Caval&go reserves the right to cancel a tour or an equestrian activity if you are not properly covered. We also offer you the possibility to subscribe to cancellation and/or repatriation insurance cover for all of your travels, with our partner Hiscox/Gras Savoye Group.

We advise that you wear a riding hat during all horse riding activities (compulsory in France, recommended abroad). Most of our service providers will be able to lend you the equipment, but if you have your own, we recommend you bring it with you. During the tour, when you are around the horses, you must respect the guide’s advice and safety instructions. On site, your trek guide will be the person in charge and as such, has full authority to exclude a rider from a trip for their inability to ride or if their behaviour endangers themselves or other riders. Depending on the destination of the ride and possible options, the rider will have to continue the ride in the support vehicle or go back to base camp.

Horse riding involves a certain degree of risk. Before each equestrian activity, your host will ask you to acknowledge the risks by signing a waiver of liability.

If, due to the conditions required above (insurance, riding hat, equestrian level required, signature of liability waiver), you cannot participate in any of the equestrian or physical activities for which you subscribed, you should not hold Caval&go responsible and will not be entitled to be compensated in any way, or reimbursed.

Health and Medical condition
Please inform us in writing of any health problems or physical conditions at the time of booking so that we can adapt the travel conditions, services and accommodation if necessary. If we are unable to satisfy your medical requirements, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel your reservation.

If, according to the guide, you have a specific medical condition, not declared during booking, that may affect your ability to ride, you may be asked to stop the trek.

Level of riding ability and experience
For each trip, you will see this symbol  that indicates the minimum level required for the trip. You can refer to this document to compare your equestrian level and, if you are in any doubt, please do not hesitate to contact us.

On the registration form (for equestrian or multi-activity tours), please indicate clearly your level and/or experience of horse riding (previous trekking and horse riding tours, equestrian sports that you practice, frequency of horse riding, etc.). This important information will allow us to estimate your level and validate your booking. We will inform the other service providers and horse owners so they can select the horse that will suit you best.

For safety reasons, as mentioned above, if you have overestimated your riding abilities, the guide may be required to prevent you from participating in the trek or the activity.

Weight limit
Most horse treks and equestrian activities are limited to riders weighing less than 100kg, or even 90kg for some tours. In addition to your weight, we will also need to consider your experience. A light but inexperienced rider might tire the horse faster than a heavier but more experienced rider. We will consider these details and check availability before confirming your booking. Our service providers will also need to know your size to select the horse that will suit you best.

Passport & Visas
Please refer to the embassy of your destination country for passport and visa requirements.

Some countries require an entry visa (Jordan or Mongolia, for example). Depending on the destination, you can either apply in advance through the relevant embassies, or obtain it directly at the airport. For conditions and procedures, please refer to “practical information” in each country description.
Please be aware that we will not be responsible if the immigration authorities do net let you board the plane or enter a country. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that you have all the necessary travel documents, including your passport and visas.

Vaccination
For compulsory or recommended vaccinations, please read the “practical information” section of each country description. Before departure, we advise that you consult your doctor to discuss vaccinations and other health precautions, as they will be aware of any recent epidemics.

Photos
We are always pleased to received photos of your trip. Please do not hesitate to send us some, and unless you specify otherwise, we might use some to illustrate our website and brochures. We reserve the right to use photographs taken by our team in our communication materials, even if some participants can be identified.

Specific requests
If you have any special requests, in particular concerning meals, please mention it on your registration form. We will do our best to meet your requests but we cannot guarantee that all demands will be entirely satisfied as it may depend on possibilities and places.

Tips
Tipping is at your discretion and generally appreciated, especially by the service staff (cooks, grooms, drivers, etc.)
